2 Olive Ridley egg-laying pawikans spotted at Santelmo & Pico de Loro Coves, Hamilo Coast, Nasugbu Batangaas today.
Two Olive Ridley sea turtles or pawikans nested at 3:00 am on July 15, 2011 at Santelmo and Pico de Loro Coves respectively, both declared as Marine Protected Areas and two of the 13 coves of Hamilo Coast. These sea turtles will be released upon hatching 60 days from now. Hamilo Coast is in partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Philippines) in various sustainable and environmental programs such as Coastal Resource Management, Renewable Energy and Solid Waste Management.
